SUNNY DAY

To say that today is a sunny day here in Phoenix, Arizona is an understatement! It is supposed to be 114 degrees again today ... downright GROSS!

What isn't gross is the new SUNNY DAY SIMPLY SCRAPPIN' KIT! I love digging in to a new Simply Scrappin' Kit! ... the self-adhesive die cuts and coordinating designer paper and textured cardstock make cardmaking extra easy!

This little card is my first attempt at playing around with the SUNNY DAY SIMPLY SCRAPPIN' KIT, and I've used this week's SCS Sketch Challenge #237 as a guide. The "just for you" sentiment is from the new stamp set, Teeny Tiny Wishes.

FINALLY !!!!

I was finally able to design a card tonight that I was satisfied with! I hope that means my mojo is here to stay for awhile! I guess my public whining helped (see previous post)!

It's a fairly simple card but I thought it showed off this color combo very well. I used
SCS Sketch Challenge #223 with Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenge #49 of BASIC BLACK, PACIFIC POINT, KIWI KISS, ROSE RED, and WHISPER WHITE.RECIPE
Stamps: Trendy Trees
Paper: Rockability Specialty DP, Whisper White, Basic Black, Rose Red, Pacific Point, and Kiwi Kiss CS
Ink: Basic Black and Pacific Point
Embellishments: Pacific Point 5/8" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Kiwi Kiss Corduroy Brads
Tools: Stamp-a-ma-jig
Supplies: Stampin' Dimensionals

BASIC GRAY GREAT GRADS

Boy, have I been struggling with my mojo this week! You might have thought that I had forgotten how to stamp! Last night, it all came back to me when I went to work with this week's Sketch Challenge #221 on SCS. My daughter Allie graduates from high school in May so I need to get busy with graduation cards for her friends. This is the first graduation card of many.

This card uses two stamp sets - Great Grads and Congrats (Sale-a-bration '09). The designer paper is from Urban Oasis and Patterns DP Pack II (Level One Hostess). The "grad" is stamped in Basic Gray ... the cap is stamped in Jet Black Staz-On, cut out, and popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals.
RECIPE
Stamps: Great Grads, Congrats (SAB '09)
Paper: Basic Gray Patterns DP, Urban Oasis DP, Basic Black and Whisper White CS
Ink: Basic Gray Classic and Jet Black Staz-On
Embellishments: 5/16" Silver Jumbo Brads, Silver Cord (retired)

enjoy .... SPRING BREAK !!!!

I haven't gotten the amount of stamping done over my spring break like I had hoped but will hopefully do some catching up over the next couple of days ... cross your fingers! I about jumped for joy when I saw Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenge #46 today! What a fantastic color combination -- BASIC BLACK, RIDING HOOD RED, REGAL ROSE, PRETTY IN PINK, and BASHFUL BLUE. I was completely inspired by the patterns in the inspiration fabric. I used the stamp set, Enjoy Every Moment and paired it up with this week's SCS Sketch Challenge #220.RECIPE

FESTIVE SNOWFLAKES

I love this week's SCS Color Challenge #196 of TAKEN WITH TEAL, RIDING HOOD RED, BAJA BREEZE, and WHISPER WHITE! What FUN colors for a Christmas card! I decided to combine these colors with today's SCS Sketch Challenge #206. As much as I loved both of these challenges, I was really hoping to create something spectacular ... BUT, after alot of fussing over this card, my end result looks much like many others that have been posted on SCS. Oh well! ... some days you got it, some days you don't!

I had some difficulty finding a sentiment for this card that was small enough to fit in the bottom right hand corner, and ended up with this "merry & bright" from the retired stamp set, All Year Cheer I. The Little Felt Flurries (LOVE THESE!) are mounted on White Circle Metal Edge Tags, and the Taken With Teal piece behind them was run through the Cuttlebug with the Snowflake Embossing Folder. RECIPE
Stamps: sentiment from All Year Cheer I (retired)
Paper: Ski Slope DP, Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Taken With Teal, and Baja Breeze CS
Ink: Riding Hood Red
Embellishments: Circle White Metal Edge Tags, Little Felt Flurries, Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon
Tools: Snowflake Cuttlebug Embossing Folder & Cuttlebug Machine (non-SU)
Supplies: Stampin' Dimensionals

THANK YOU, TRUE FRIEND

Today's card uses Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenge #33 using the colors of CHOCOLATE CHIP, PUMPKIN PIE, TAKEN WITH TEAL, CERTAINLY CELERY, and WHISPER WHITE, along with SCS Sketch Challenge #205. I've been thinking long and hard about these colors ever since Kristina posted the challenge a couple of days ago. I just kept coming to a dead end with these colors but finally decided to tackle them this afternoon. I would have liked to have played more on the button theme from the inspiration photo but managed to include only one button in my design.

I used Stampin' Write Markers (Taken With Teal, Certainly Celery, and Pumpkin Pie) to create the True Friend medallion background. The felt flowers are from Flower Fusion and Flower Fusion Too, and the sentiment is from the stamp set, Upsy Daisy (I like how the dots on the sentiment mimic those on the medallion image.).

RECIPE
Stamps: True Friend, Upsy Daisy
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Taken With Teal, and Whisper White CS
Ink: Certainly Celery, Taken With Teal, and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Markers, Chocolate Chip Classic Ink Pad
Embellishments: Flower Fusion and Flower Fusion Too, Certainly Celery Button
Supplies: Stampin' Dimensionals

SCS SKETCH CHALLENGE SC200

This sketch ...SCS Sketch Challenge #200 ... was a great excuse to use my new Scallop Square Punch and this beautiful pattern from Sweet Always Designer Paper! The Pumpkin Pie Flower Fusion are on 1" Whisper White CS Circles with a non-SU White Brad. (I've never understood why SU doesn't carry white brads. To me, they seem like a pretty basic stamping necessity. Guess I better shoot them an e-mail about that one!) The sentiment for this card is from the retired stamp set, Small Sayings.

Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT day! RECIPE

CRAZY FOR CUPCAKES AND CREW KIDS GIRL

Yes, I'm still using my last few scraps from the retired Simply Scrappin' Kit, Crew Kids Girl. Those of you who have followed my blog posts over the past year, know how obsessed I've been over the designer paper in this kit. Even though it's retired, I'm still using it! Amazing how many cards you can make from one of Stampin' Up!'s Simply Scrappin' Kits!

The layout for this card is from SCS Sketch Challenge #194, along with the new stamp set, Crazy for Cupcakes.

NOTES:
* The bottom 1-d panel is a self-adhesive die-cut from the Crew Kids Girl Simply Scrappin' Kit.

* There is paper piercing around the perimeter of the card.

* A Blender Pen was used to color with Wild Wasabi and Basic Gray reinkers

* Diamond Stickles (non-SU) were applied to the cupcake frosting.
*The paper piercing on the 3/4" and 1" circles behind the sentiment were created using the Punches Plus Classy Brass Template.

This card uses SCS Sketch Challenge #189. I used designer paper and textured cardstock from Flower Power Simply Sent Card Elements Kit (pg. 176 2008 Fall-Winter). Wish I could purchase this gorgeous designer paper by the ream! Notice how I used the new Scallop Border Punch along the right hand side of the card, and used my Paper Piercer for pinholes in the center of each scallop.RECIPE

JUST BECAUSE

My friend and SU sideline, Lorri Heiling is at the Stampin' Up! Convention with other weSTAMPers, and I'm insanely jealous that I'm not there with them! I can't believe I'm missing out on all that Stampin' Up! fun! Lorri has called from Salt Lake City several times to fill me in on all the happenings - specifically new products in the new, upcoming Stampin' Up! catalog. Among many NEW products and stamp sets, some products from the mini catalogs have made it into the new catty. When I heard that the Tart & Tangy stamp set, Summer Picnic designer paper, and the Mini Library Clips made it into the new catty, I had to celebrate by making a card with them! I used yesterday's Sketch Challenge #187 for the layout.

RECIPE
Stamps: Tart & Tangy, Define Your Life
Paper: Summer Picnic DP, Basic Black, Bashful Blue, and Whisper White CS
Ink: Basic Black, Real Red, and Old Olive
Embellishments: Black Mini Library Clip, Real Red 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon
Supplies: Stampin' Dimensionals

PRETTY AMAZING

Today's card combines Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenge #17 of Rose Red, Regal Rose, Sage Shadow, and Whisper White and SCS Sketch Challenge #186. I really think my card seems a little out of balance and needs something on the upper left side ... BUT do you think I could find ANYTHING to put there?RECIPE
Stamps: Pretty Amazing
Paper: Regal Rose, Whisper White, Sage Shadow, and Rose Red CS, Bali Breeze DP
Ink: Sage Shadow and Basic Black
Embellishments: Flower Fusion, Gold Brads, Real Rose 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon
Tools: Scallop Edge Punch, Swiss Dots Dry Embossing Folder and Cuttlebug Machine (non-SU)
Supplies: Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

PRETTY AMAZING HIGH CONTRAST and BOLD

I created this card using Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenge #14, combined with SCS Sketch Challenge #183. Kristina's Challenge was to create a high contrast, bold creation using the colors of Basic Black, Basic Gray, and Whisper White ... Ruby Red and River Rock were optional. I chose to omit the later as I wasn't quite sure how to incorporate them and felt that the Basic Black, Basic Gray and Whisper White achieved the goal on their own.

I used the stamp set, Pretty Amazing which I've had for quite awhile and am just now getting around to using it. The hummingbird is stamped with Basic Black on Basic Gray and paper pieced. The large background panel was stamped with Basic Black onto Basic Gray. The flower was stamped with Basic Black on Whisper White three times with the middle and top layers cut out and raised. The middle layer was raised on dimensionals and the third was adhered with a Mini Glue Dot. I debated whether to use these self-adhesive rhinestones or silver brads but opted for a little bling for a little more drama.

I surprised myself with this one, creating a card without ribbon, and without punches and fancy tools! That's gotta be a first! Thanks for looking!RECIPE
Stamps: Pretty Amazing
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black and Basic Gray CS
Ink: Basic Black Classic
Embellishments: Self-Adhesive Rhinestones (non-SU)
Tools: Scissors
Supplies: Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

TWO CARDS FOR YOU

This first card combines SCS Sketch Challenge SC180 and SCS Color Challenge CC170. I really like this color combination of Real Red, Regal Rose, and So Saffron. For some reason, the combination reminds me of a candy store in downtown Disney! (don't ask me why!???)

I took these photos at night so it's hard to tell, but there is a Yellow Fire Circle Rhinestone Brad in the center of the flower and paper piercing on the corners of the diamond-shaped Real Red panel. The small flower image from Office Accoutrement is stamped off with So Saffron Classic Ink on the center Whisper White panel.

RECIPE
Stamps: Office Accoutrement, Hugs & Wishes
Paper: So Saffron Prints DP, Whisper White, Regal Rose, and Real Red CS
Ink: So Saffron, Real Red, and Regal Rose Classic Ink
Embellishments: Regal Rose 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Yellow Fire Circle Rhinestone Brad
Tools: Paper Piercing Tool & Mat Pack
Supplies: Stampin' Dimensionals, Pop-Up Glue Dot

This next card is a total case of THIS CARD by justcrazy on SCS. I thought justcrazy's use of this Fall Flowers DP with this stamp set, Spring Solitude was brilliant, and I was inspired to copy it! The only changes I made include adding a sentiment in the lower right hand corner, and adding paper piercing on the Old Olive diamond shaped panel.
RECIPE
Stamps: Spring Solitude
Paper: Fall Flowers DP, Whisper White, Old Olive, and Chocolate Chip CS
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Real Red, and Old Olive Markers
Embellishments: Real Red Brads, Real Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon
Tools: Paper Piercing Tool & Mat Pack
Supplies: Stampin' Dimensionals

MARCH STAMP CLASS PROJECTS

These are the projects I had available at my March Stamp Classes .. four cards featuring Sale-A-Bration stamp sets, and one Easter card. We had such a great time at both classes ... I've got the BEST customers/friends anyone could ask for!

The chick/egg image from A Good Egg stamp set was stamped four times; once on Whisper White, once on So Saffron, and twice on the Certainly Celery polka dot from Spring Fling DP. PAPER PRETTIES SNOWFLAKE KISSES and SCS SKETCH CHALLENGE SC164

Last night, I made this card for SCS Sketch Challenge 164 using the mittens image and sentiment from the Paper Pretties stamp set, Snowflake Kisses. I used an unusual color combination of Elegant Eggplant, Soft Sky, and Basic Black. Odd combo, but I like it! I used Frosted Lace Stickles on the cuffs and snowflakes of the mittens, and the mittens are "hung" by a Lilac Ice Square Rhinestone Brad. The Ticket Corner Punch was used on the large Elegant Eggplant piece, then I Paper Pierced three holes to surround the punched corners. The horizontal Soft Sky piece is Paper Pierced above and below the ribbon.

Paper Pretties has slashed prices in their sale section, and have added new Easter ribbon to the store! Click HERE to go to the Paper Pretties store. RECIPE
Stamps: Snowflake Kisses from Paper Pretties
Paper: Soft Sky Prints DP, Basic Black, Elegant Eggplant, Soft Sky, and Whisper White CS

SCS SKETCH CHALLENGE 162, ENJOY EVERY MOMENT

This card was created for last week's SCS Sketch Challenge 162, and as you can see, I can't stay away from the Crew Kids Girl Simply Scrappin' Kit! The colors, designer papers, and self-adhesive die cuts are just awesome! Wish I could buy the designer paper in this kit by the ream! I felt the same way about the striped designer paper in the Winter Bright SSK from the last catalog!

The main image panel (layer #4 in the sketch), "enjoy every moment", is a case from Nancy Morgan's card HERE and HERE. Nancy is such an enabler ... her card is the reason I bought the stamp set, Enjoy Every Moment! I love how the "e" fit in the center of the large flower, and the dotted circle and small flower fit in the center of the "o" ... brilliant design! I couldn't have done this without my Stamp-a-ma-jig, using it five times for the main image! .... 1) large Wild Wasabi flower, 2) Going Gray "enjoy", 3) Pretty In Pink dotted circle inside the "o", 4) small Wild Wasabi flower inside the "o", and 5) "every moment". The dots around the large Wild Wasabi flower are paper pierced with the paper piercing tool/mat/template.

Layer #1 is Pretty In Pink CS layered on Wild Wasabi CS. The Daisy Dash Jumbo Wheel was inked in Versamark vertically on the Pretty In Pink CS.

The horizontal layer #2 is a self-adhesive die cut from the Crew Kids Girl SSK, mounted on dp from the same kit, then mounted again on Going Gray textured cardstock from the same kit.

RECIPE
Stamps: Enjoy Every Moment, Daisy Dash Jumbo Wheel
Paper: Pretty In Pink, Regal Rose, Wild Wasabi, Going Gray, and Whisper White CS, Designer Paper from Crew Kids Girl Simply Scrappin'
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Going Gray, Pretty In Pink Classic Ink Pads, Versamark for Jumbo Wheel Background
Embellishments: Wild Wasabi Double Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Pink Fire Circle Rhinestone Brad, White Brads (non-SU)
Tools: Ticket Corner Punch, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Jumbo Wheel Handle, Paper Piercing Tool/Mat/Template
Supplies: Stampin' Dimensionals

SCS SKETCH CHALLENGE 139

One of my favorite blogs, and bestest blogging friends, is Fran Sabad, Franticstampers. I've admired THIS CARD of Fran's since she posted it the end of August. I absolutely love this layout! I think it lends itself well to so many Stampin' Up! stamp sets. So I thought I would try to apply some of my stamp sets to it (which is also SCS Sketch Challenge 139).

Here's the Sketch 139:

SEASON OF JOY

This first card is very similar to Fran's card... just different colors, DP, ribbon, etc. The bling star on top of the Christmas tree was a Target $1 Spot find back in July. The center dots of the poinsettia were punched with a 1/8" circle punch (Old Olive CS) and adhered with Crystal Effects. The Real Red 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon was wrapped around the card, and stays in place with a few small pieces of Sticky Strip. The seam of the ribbon is hidden under the center horizontal CS panel. The bow is adhered with a glue dot.RECIPE
Stamps: Season of Joy (pg. 2-3 Holiday Mini 2007)
Paper: Dashing DP, Old Olive, Real Red, Very Vanilla, and River Rock CS
Ink: Old Olive, Real Red, and River Rock Classic Ink Pads
Embellishments: Real Red 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Misc. Non-SU Star
Tools: 1/8" Handheld Punch, 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Circle Punches
Supplies: Stampin' Dimensionals, Sticky Strip, Crystal Effects, Glue Dot

PERFECT PRESENTATION
This next card turned out to be my favorite ... I'm LOVIN' the Winter Bright Simply Scrappin' Kit! Such fun colors for the holidays, reminding me of the colors you see in the movie, "The Grinch". The Pretty In Pink Star on top of the tree, the blue scallop circle, and the striped vertical strip are die-cut stickers from the Winter Bright SS Kit. The Wild Wasabi and Purely Pomegranate Circles in the medallion are punched from the DP in the Winter Bright SS Kit.

RECIPE
Stamps: Perfect Presentation (Level 2 Hostess...pg. 20), "Merry Christmas" sentiment from All Holidays (pg. 143)
Paper: Winter Bright Simply Scrappin' Kit (Bashful Blue, Purely Pomegranate, Pretty In Pink, Wild Wasabi)
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Purely Pomegranate Classic Ink Pads
Embellishments: Wild Wasabi Double Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon
Tools: 1/4", 3/4", 1" and 1 3/8" Circle Punches
Supplies: Stampin' Dimensionals, Sticky Strip, Glue Dot

TRUE FRIEND
RECIPE
Stamps: True Friend (pg. 18 Holiday Mini '07)
Paper: Apple Cider DP (pg. 19 Holiday Mini '07), Really Rust, Wild Wasabi, River Rock, Close To Cocoa, and Very Vanilla CS
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Really Rust, Chocolate Chip Classic Ink Pads, Versamark
Embellishments: Wild Wasabi Double Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Antique Brass Brads
Tools: Ticket Corner Punch, 1/16" Handheld Punch, 1", 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" Circle Punches
