INKSPIRATION SKETCH & JEWELRY COLOR INSPIRATION FOR AUTUMN DAYS

This week, Makeesha Byl brings us Sketch #10 for her weekly Inkspiration Challenge. I love all those different layers, set off by that circle! Be sure to see what the other design team members have created ... Cindy, Karen, Kristy, Amy, and Renee.



I combined Makeesha's sketch with another favorite challenge - Stacey Schafer's Jewelry Color Inspired Challenge #44. I just lit up when I saw this color combo of Perfect Plum, Really Rust, More Mustard, and Very Vanilla, as these are the colors of my living room/dining room, along with some touches of red (SU translation: Riding Hood Red).

On the circle, the pheasant image from the new stamp set Autumn Days was first stamped in Perfect Plum. I masked the pheasant image by stamping it on a post-it note, cutting it out, and covering the original image. The wheat images were then stamped in More Mustard several times. The rubber was not re-inked each time (stamping off). The masking of the pheasant makes it look like the pheasant is standing in the foreground of the wheat, and the wheat is not "showing through" the pheasant image. The "get well wishes" sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes was stamped in Really Rust. The border of the Very Vanilla circle was then sponged with More Mustard ink.

It's difficult to see in the photo but the strip of More Mustard cardstock above the brads has two rows of paper piercing. There are Really Rust cardstock 1/4" Circles behind the More Mustard brads.

My Hello YoYo Yellow card that I created last week for Stacey Schafer's Jewelry Color Inspired Challenge #43 was chosen as Stacey's favorite of the week! In recognition, I received the hostess stamp set, Dear Friend ... along with this beautiful card from Stacey! It's so exciting to receive free stamps and a beautiful hand made card in the mail !!!!I'm hooked on Stacey's Jewelry Inspired Challenges! I've created a card using this week's Jewelry Color Inspired Challenge #44 that I'll be posting in the wee hours of the morning. I'll be posting it then because it combines Makeesha's Inkspiration Challenge for the week in which I'm the July Guest Designer. Makeesha posts during normal Australia hours which translates to 1:00 a.m. Arizona time. Be sure to check back in the morning!

HELLO YOYO YELLOW

I really should be cleaning house and setting up for tonight's weSTAMP meeting (we're swapping tonight so watch for a post with our swap cards within the next day or so). I started this card late last night, and just couldn't move on to other things until I finished it and posted it.

I used two of my favorite challenges to create this card ... 1) Stacey's Jewelry Color Inspiration Challenge #43 of YoYo Yellow, Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, and Very Vanilla. I can't tell you the last time I even touched YoYo Yellow! I'm a sucker for an unusual color combo so this was right up my alley! ... and 2) this awesome Mojo Monday Sketch #93.

This stamp set, Pretty Amazing, is retiring today. It has always been one of my favorites, and I can't believe how short lived it was. Click HERE to see other cards I've created using this stamp set.

I'LL MISS YOU, DOODLE THIS!

Today's card ... (listen to me ... I post original designs four days in a row and act like I'm a regular daily poster!) ... uses Stacey Schafer's Jewelry Color Inspiration #40 based on this Springtime Garden Bracelet with the colors of Garden Green, Certainly Celery, Pretty In Pink, and Whisper White. Such a fun colors combo! I can't tell you the last time I used Garden Green! I'm ashamed to say that I've never played along with Stacey's Jewelry Inspired Challenges but have always admired them and followed along ... what a great concept!

I also used Julee Tilman's Mojo Monday Sketch #90 with the soon-to-be-retired stamp set, Doodle This. This is probably the stamp set on the retiring list that I will miss the most. Click HERE to view the many cards I've made and/or designed with this stamp set over the years.

The large Doodle This flower image is stamped in Basic Black onto Pretty In Pink Prints DP three times, cut out, then staggered on top of each other. I used the handle of a paper piercer to curl the petals for depth.
