This is my swap card for our June weSTAMP (Stampin' Up! demonstrator group). This month's swap theme was a color combination challenge of Tempting Turquoise, Poppy Parade, and Daffodil Delight. My card features the new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch found in the 2011 Summer Mini Catalog. I'll soon be posting all the swap cards from our evening .... stop in again!RECIPE

This simple card was i
nspired by Colour Q Challenge #86 of Real Red, Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, and Early Espresso, and Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #119.
I immediately thought of this sunflower card we made at a stamp class a couple of years ago when I saw the inspiration socks from the Colour Q. The sunflower is so simple to make - punch with the scallop circle punch, cut with scissors toward the center in each indentation. The center of the sunflower is made using the 1" circle punch.
I have missed Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketches - she designs THE BEST sketches, doesn't she?!

Next weekend, my Grandma turns 90 years old!!! Thanks to her, her mother and aunts, I have really good genes for living a long life. They have all lived well into their 90's and one aunt into her 100's! I don't know if this card is quite special enough for Grandma's 90th but I gave it my best shot. In the photo, my sentiment looks crooked but doesn't IRL ... and I'm thinking I should have made the checked dp piece more narrow.
What I DO like about this card is that it uses a sketch from one of my favorite stamping artists, Karen Giron, the sweetest thing. This is her first Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. I also do like my addition of the leaves for the felt flowers. I created those by punching Kiwi Kiss CS with the 5-Petal Flower Punch, then scoring down the center of each petal and cutting each petal off. The scored line gives just a little added depth.
