Now that I'm on summer break from work, I've been spending some time playing with my poor, neglected stamps. For the most part, I've been copying others' designs and building my card stash back up. It would be so nice if I could get back to designing again, and participating in challenges! We'll see!
This is the Father's Day card I made for my Dad, and it was inspired by Rita Wright's card and Julie Davison's card.
RECIPE
Stamps: Feeling Sentimental, Delightful Dozen
Paper:
Soft Suede, Early Espresso, First Edition DSP, Twitterpated DSP (for pennant)
Ink: Soft Suede, Early Espresso
Embellishments: Early Espresso Neutrals Designer Button, Linen Thread
Tools: Square Lattice Embossing Folder (for Early Espresso pennant)

MASCULINE JULY BIRTHDAY
Paper Shares and Ribbon Shares groups are filling up fast! Don't miss out! Click HERE for details.
I've been anxious to try the inlaid embossing technique. The stars were punched out and adhered to the Whisper White CS, and the sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy ink .... then run through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. The small Night of Navy star inside the large Basic Gray star was embellished with a silver brad, then raised on dimensionals after the embossing. I used the Colour Q Challenge #91 of Bravo Burgundy, Ruby Red, Night of Navy, Basic Gray and Whisper White. A great easy masculine July birthday card!

MY DAD ... BEST DAD EVER

This is the Father's Day card I made for my Dad this year using the new stamp set, Best Dad Ever, from the Summer Mini Catalog. I got frustrated with this set at first because I couldn't get a nice, clean image from the bold tie images. I called Stampin' Up! about it and got the most helpful gal on the phone. She confirmed that the tie images are meant to have a distressed look and suggested using craft ink and/or embossing to achieve bold, solid images. If you're familiar with my stamping style, you know I'll do just about anything to avoid embossing. Determined to use this new stamp set, I tried the embossing, and it worked! I'm very pleased with the results. The ties were stamped with black craft ink and embossed with black embossing powder TWICE -- one is cut out and raised up on Stampin' Dimensionals. This was one of those "difficult to photograph" cards and the photo just doesn't do the embossing justice. I used the Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge #206 for my layout.RECIPE

HAPPY 15th BIRTHDAY, DREW!
Today is my son's 15th birthday! I purchased this Extreme Guitar stamp with Drew in mind ... music is a huge part of his life, and he plays the bass guitar (we'll just pretend that this acoustic guitar is a bass!). The new Night & Day Specialty Designer Paper from the '09 Holiday Mini Catalog suits Drew too ... BLACK just like the majority of his teenage wardrobe!

TO THE NINES MASCULINE
I've been on summer break from work (I work at a school), and have been having a blast stamping every day! I have a new job for next school year -- same school district, new school, new position. I am in training for it this week which leaves little time for stamping. So, for this week's blog material I thought I'd share with you some designs that I've CASEd (Copy And Steal/Share Everything) recently.
This card CASEs Jill Hilliard's Manchester Masculine card. I love it when I find a great design for a masculine card! I paired my version with To The Nines Specialty Designer Paper, and used the same stamp set that Jill did - Think Happy Thoughts.
RECIPE
Stamps: Think Happy Thoughts
Paper: To The Nines Specialty DP, Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip, and Sahara Sand CS
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Embellishments: Silver Brads, Star Brad from Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware, 5/8" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon
Tools: Star Punch, 1/2", 3/4", 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Circle Punches
Supplies: Stampin' Dimensionals

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD!
Today is my Dad's birthday, and when I saw THIS CARD on Wendy's blog, It's All About Stamping!, I knew I had to case it for my Dad. I fell in love with the simple, clean lines of this layout which could be used with any of Stampin' Up!'s designer papers. The stamp set, Circle of Friendship could easily be used in place of Riveting. Be sure to check out Wendy's blog ... LOVE her stampin' style!!!!!
I am really bad at using my retired stamping supplies like designer papers, ribbon, and cardstock, and am trying very hard to stop hoarding them. Pretty much everything on this card is retired except the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the stamp set, It's Your Birthday and the Naturals Ivory and Chocolate Chip CS.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD !!!!
RECIPE
Stamps: It's Your Birthday, Riveting (retired)
Paper: True Thyme and Blue Bayou CS (retired), Sentimental Journey DP (retired), Naturals Ivory and Chocolate Chip CS
Ink: Chocolate Chip Classic Ink Pad
Embellishments: True Thyme Stitched Ribbon
Tools: Corner Rounder, 1/2", 1 1/4", and 1 3/8" Circle Punches
Supplies: Stampin' Dimensionals
btw .... can anyone tell me why my spell check isn't working all of a sudden when I'm creating a new post?????
