HELLO YOYO YELLOW

I really should be cleaning house and setting up for tonight's weSTAMP meeting (we're swapping tonight so watch for a post with our swap cards within the next day or so). I started this card late last night, and just couldn't move on to other things until I finished it and posted it.

I used two of my favorite challenges to create this card ... 1) Stacey's Jewelry Color Inspiration Challenge #43 of YoYo Yellow, Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, and Very Vanilla. I can't tell you the last time I even touched YoYo Yellow! I'm
a sucker for an unusual color combo so this was right up my alley! ... and 2) this awesome Mojo Monday Sketch #93.

This stamp set, Pretty Amazing, is retiring today. It has always been one of my favorites, and I can't believe how short lived it was. Click HERE to see other cards I've created using this stamp set.

TOMORROW afternoon, I will be placing a Stampin' Up! order for the first round of Designer Paper and Ribbon Shares! Don't miss out !!!!

PRETTY AMAZING RASPBERRY TART

I got a chance to create with some of the goodies that Connie Collins sent to me (see my previous post)! This is my first time working with Raspberry Tart DP, and I love it! I used one of my favorite stamp sets, Pretty Amazing ... and Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #3.

Details about this card that may not be obvious in the photograph ... a) the perimeter of the large flower print dp panel is paper pierced, b) the large flower was stamped off in Pretty in Pink and randomly stamped on the Whisper White panel, c) the hummingbird image is paper pieced by stamping in in Jet Black Staz-On onto Raspberry Tart DP and cut out, d) the large flower was created by stamping it three times onto Whisper White CS ... once in Real Red, again in Rose Red, and again in Pretty In Pink. All three layers were cut out with scissors, attached with a Pink Circle Brad, and adhered with a Pop-Up Glue Dot. You can see an excellent tutorial for the flat-tailored bow by Joanne Basil HERE.

DOIN' THE HAPPY DANCE!!!

Well, I'm NOT doin' the happy dance LITERALLY because as I mentioned two posts ago I'm a little crippled up this weekend. I'm doin' the dance inside because my card was chosen in the TOP TEN of Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenge #17 !!!! It looks as though there were over 200 entries! I'm keeping good company in the TOP TEN ... see them HERE. For details about my card, see the original post HERE.

PRETTY AMAZING

Today's card combines Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenge #17 of Rose Red, Regal Rose, Sage Shadow, and Whisper White and SCS Sketch Challenge #186. I really think my card seems a little out of balance and needs something on the upper left side ... BUT do you think I could find ANYTHING to put there?RECIPE

PRETTY AMAZING HIGH CONTRAST and BOLD

I created this card using Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenge #14, combined with SCS Sketch Challenge #183. Kristina's Challenge was to create a high contrast, bold creation using the colors of Basic Black, Basic Gray, and Whisper White ... Ruby Red and River Rock were optional. I chose to omit the later as I wasn't quite sure how to incorporate them and felt that the Basic Black, Basic Gray and Whisper White achieved the goal on their own.

I used the stamp set, Pretty Amazing which I've had for quite awhile and am just now getting around to using it. The hummingbird is stamped with Basic Black on Basic Gray and paper pieced. The large background panel was stamped with Basic Black onto Basic Gray. The flower was stamped with Basic Black on Whisper White three times with the middle and top layers cut out and raised. The middle layer was raised on dimensionals and the third was adhered with a Mini Glue Dot. I debated whether to use these self-adhesive rhinestones or silver brads but opted for a little bling for a little more drama.

I surprised myself with this one, creating a card without ribbon, and without punches and fancy tools! That's gotta be a first! Thanks for looking!RECIPE
