My beautiful Mom, Carol Ann Olson, lost her battle with brain cancer and passed away on April 12, 2011. I have been away from home since the 8th and am now spending some quiet time at home. What a shock to open your latest post and see a photo of your mom. This will be an odd comment, but your mother looks absolutely stunning in that photo when so many obituary photos are just awful. I think it captures what must have been a very fulfilling life.

Nancy, I'm behind in blog reading and just saw your sad posting about the loss of your dear mother (on my birthday no less). She was way. too. young. and looked so vivacious and beautiful in that picture. Hate to even mention the C-word as I lost both my parents that way and also my FIL. It certainly isn't easy losing a loved one but at least you know you did all possible and were there for her.
