CASEing JULIE and DIANA

Last night, I wasn't feeling particularly creative so I decided to case a couple of cards that caught my eye recently. This first card is a complete case (with the exception of the sentiment and card size) of THIS CARD by Julie Davison, Julie's Stampin' Spot. For me, this is a WOW color combination, and thought the design was great for just about any birthday ... women, men, or children. I made up five of these in no time to have on hand.

The star background on the Pacific Point CS was achieved by using the Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel and Versamark. I was out of the SU Metal Edge Tags in the 1 1/2" size so I used the generic 1 1/4" Metal Rim Tags that you can purchase just about anywhere (Walmart, Target, office supply store, etc.). I simply punched a piece of Whisper White CS with a 1" Circle Punch for the inside of the tag in order to cover up the hole that the metal ring once went through.
RECIPE
Stamps:
Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel, Sincere Salutations

Paper: Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise, Elegant Eggplant, Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White CS
Ink: Pacific Point, Versamark
Embellishments: Metal Edge Tag, Silver Brad
Tools: 1", 1 1/4", and 1 3/4" Circle Punches, Large and Small Star Punches
Supplies: Stampin' Dimensionals

This next card CASEs the designer paper layout of THIS CARD by Diana Ball-Seitz, paperball on SCS. The way Diana coordinated the Ski Slope Designer Paper reminds me of a warm winter sweater. It's difficult to see in the photo, but there are two rows of paper piercing along the top Real Red CS piece.
RECIPE
Stamps: All Holidays
Paper: Ski Slope DP, Real Red and Baja Breeze CS
Ink: Basic Black
Embellishments: Baja Breeze 5/8" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Little Felt Flurries, Red Circle Fire Rhinestone
Tools: Paper Piercer & Mat Pack
Supplies: Pop-Up Glue Dot

Thanks for stopping by today! I'm counting down my days at home, as I'll be returning to work on Monday 1/12. I had originally planned to return on 1/5, but developed an infection in my foot which set me back about a week. Yesterday, I started walking without my cane. I'm still not putting my full weight on my heel yet and I'm still pretty slow but I've made alot of progress. I think they'll be putting me on "light duty" at work for about a week or so.

This is a great winter card. I have a bunch of that ski slope paper left over. May have to use this for inspiration.
