A THANK YOU, AN AWARD, AND CHRISTMAS RAKS

You are all truly amazing! My family and I just can't get over the amount of wonderful comments you've left with words of comfort after losing our dog, Millie. {{{THANK YOU}}} Stories, photos, and tears have consumed most of our time the past few days. I can't believe the number of Millie stories we've reminded each other of. I never dreamed it would be this difficult. Like I said, Millie gave so much more to us than we ever gave to her!

My teenage daughter Allie is tackling a scrapbook just for Millie. She asked me to go with her to the local scrapbook store to choose an album, designer papers, embellishments, etc. I never thought I'd see the day when Allie would get excited about the same things that I do! ... most of the time she shows no interest in my crafting. I was lovin' it!

I am way overdue in acknowledging this lovely Butterfly Award from Lisa Brown ~ Ink & Inspriations, and Kay Kalthoff ~ Stamping To Share.

Here are some more beautiful handmade Christmas cards that I received from friends.

This first one is from
Martha Cavazos Fipps ~ Bloomin' Cookin' and Stampin' ...
from Dawn Easton, Treasure Oiler Designz ...
by Ginnny Schembri ...
THANKS for stopping by!

Oh Nancy, I'm so sorry to read about Millie! I'm sure that was an incredibly difficult decision to make and I hope you'll continue to find comfort in the happy memories of her years with your family. Big hugs to you!!

Thank you Nancy for sharing these cards - they are really beautiful, especially the last one. I love pink for Christmas and I have just made some recent Christmas cards myself using the Wintergreen papers with Sage Shadow cardstock.
Now, I have a new colour scheme to try!

Oh, I just need to post another comment as I've shed tears for you and your family both times I've read about Mille's pasing. I have 4 dogs of my own and all of them mean the worls to me. I can't imagine. Please know that the best part of Millie lives on in you and your families' hearts. I know that doesn't mean alot right now but hopefully someday soon it will.

Bigs hugs from me and my furbabies as you and your family continue to share the wonderful memories of your beloved Millie.

I'm not sure if your familiar with the Rainbow Bridge or not but I used to work for my local humane society. Point being we used to give out the Rainbow Bridge poem to all of those who just lost a pet.
This is the poem:

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
