I'M STILL HERE!

I haven't abandoned my blog ... just real busy being a mom of a senior in her last couple of weeks of marching band season! Last night was the last home football game, and it was also SENIOR NIGHT! The seniors are given crowns from Burger King, spray painted gold to wear that evening ... I know - sounds silly, but it is a big deal for the seniors to get to wear their crowns that night. During pre-game, each senior is announced, along with their parents/significant other family members, and their future plans. The seniors and their escorts walk onto the football field for special recognition. Here's a photo of John and I with our daughter, Allie. Allie plans to attend ASU to study the field of architecture.
This morning we headed to Flagstaff, Arizona for the Northern Arizona University marching band competition. Our kids' performance knocked our socks off! They were amazing, and only a half of a point away from receiving the much deserved rating of "superior". They also received a caption for music performance.

After the competition, John drove me to the famous Flagstaff scrapbook store, About Memories & More! I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Kirsten Mead. What a treat! Kirsten is just as sweet and talented as she appears on her blog, About Memories & More ... AND, her store is AWESOME - FULL of the latest and greatest scrapbooking and paper crafting supplies! Kirsten and I have been following each other's blogs for quite some time. I can't tell you how fun it was to meet in person! She is a doll !!!!!!!!!!

oh, i loved marching band, and i think the crowns for seniors is great! our son is in the jazz band as a keyboardist at his middle school, and i hope to get to be a band parent in hs.

don't worry about not getting to the blog--living life to the fullest is what it's all about, and not missing those moments that won't come again!

hope you have some time to relax today.

Oh Nancy Congrats to Allie and her marching band. Isn't the NAU competition day just the best? It is so hard when they come so close to a Superior rating but I am sure the band, the parents and the directors were proud. I know it always made me cry to see how far they come. My dd was in band in her Freshman and Sophmore year and I would always say that the band parents do every thing but play the instuments...lol.

So glad you all had a great trip and a great time. Of course a stop at such a wonderful Scrap Store is a great way to wrap up the trip. I'm sure it was the cherry on top...lol.

Take care and I hope that I will meet you soon.
