MY CUPCAKE TURNS 17!

Today, my daughter Allie turned 17 !!! What a fun day we had! Allie and I drove across town to Scottsdale Fashion Square for some shopping. We refused to fork out a bunch of money for a high school class ring last year and told her we'd like to buy her a nice right hand ring. Today was the day, and we found a nice affordable one that she loves. (do you KNOW how much class rings cost these days?!!!).

Before heading home, Allie and I stopped at the cupcake store, SPRINKLES! WOW! Talk about delicious! Their website is www.sprinklescupcakes.com. Speaking of amazing cakes and cupcakes, you've GOT to see THIS too!

Allie started marching band practice today, and our family went out for dinner this evening in between her practice and band council meeting. Allie's best friend, Britt was able to join us too!

You know how I've been talking about changes the last couple of days? Here's another one ... my daughter turned 17 and is starting her Senior Year of High School! Whoa! Time needs to slow down ... NOW!
The Riley family ... Drew (13), Nancy, Allie (17), and John

You don't need to apologize to Ms Anonymous (who doesn't have the nerve to use her real name!). I am an independent contractor with a home based business and do it to support my habit!! Stampin' Up! has been around for awhile and it's reputation speaks for itself! Your comment was right on time and you did an excellent job expressing your views! YOU GO GIRL!!! By the way, lovely family picture!!

Oh, how I feel what your saying.....My daughter just graduated from HS this June. When I woke up and realized she was a senior it jolted my heart. I will say this.....Senior year goes by VERY FAST.....It is sad...but the Euphoria you will feel when you see her in the crowd of other graduates in her cap and gown will be replaced by nothing else....it is an amazing day. Enjoy every moment this year....it really does go by fast.

Nancy first of all I LOVE your blog!!! Second of all I think we are living parallel lives..lol. I went through what you are going through with going back to work after being home for 15 years with my DD. I was a basket case at first. We only had one car and I had to take the BUS to work. I cried the first week walking from the bus stop to work. But all ended well and I loved my new life and meeting new people and working. I was also a Stampin Up demo and LOVED it but we did need some additional money coming in. My dd turned 17 last March and is starting her Senior year in HS on Monday. We were just talking yesterday about taking a field trip to Sprinkles to check it out because we adore cupcakes. I wish you all the best on your new journey and I know you will succeed in anything you try. Keep up the great work on your blog and keep stamping and all will be right with the world..lol.

Happy Birthday Allie!!! I have a 17 year old daughter(Rebecca) starting her senior year ,too. But she's my baby, so I'm staring down the barrel of an empty nest! So not ready for that. My daughter has also been having band camp for the last week and a half. I wish we lived closer, it sounds like our daughters could be good friends! And I would love to stamp with you. You are so gifted! Thanks for sharing your talents with us!!!

Wow, Nancy, I just am getting caught up on reading your posts....lots of changes in your family. First, blessings on your new endeavour. I think teaching is a great job; you can follow your kids' hours and you have the summer off! Second, blessings on your teenage daughter turning 17! That brings a whole new dimension to the family. And thank you, I thought I was the only meanie mother who would not let her daughter get a class ring. And my DD does not miss it at all! Third, blessings on how you inspire us all with your creativity. Keep up the good work, don't let negative comments get you down; you know in your heart what is best for you, your family & your business!
A demo friend,
LeAnne
