WHAT'S BREWING?

I'm posting much later than I had planned today ... I promised Allie I'd take her shopping this afternoon for a prom dress. If you know me, you know I don't care for shopping, especially when it is in a mall. And shopping for a prom dress is no easy task ... they're all made for barbie doll figures, not normal teenager figures! geezh! Not to mention, they're all very sexy ... hard to find a "hip" dress that is a little conservative! Unfortunately, we came home empty handed, and our search continues. Onto the card ...

This coffee mug image and sentiment are just two of the coffee-themed images from the new Paper Pretties stamp set, Look Who's Perky. I made this card using Jen del Muro's Sketch For You To Try from 2/23/08.

The flower on the coffee mug is a SAB Love & Happiness Rub-On in Old Olive, and the ribbon is the new Chocolate Chip Poly-Twill Ribbon in the new Occasions Mini Collection 2008. I finally used some of my Aged Copper Hodgepodge Hardware (I must quit hoarding that stuff!).

RECIPE

Stamps: Look Who's Perky from Paper Pretties
Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, and Old Olive CS, Old Olive Prints DP
Ink: Chocolate Chip and Old Olive Classic Ink
Embellishments: Chocolate Chip Poly-Twill Ribbon, SAB Love & Happiness Rub-Ons (Old Olive), Aged Copper Hodgepodge Hardware
Tools: 1 1/4", 1 3/8", and Scallop Circle Punches, Paper Piercing Tool/Mat/Template
Supplies: Stampin' Dimensionals
Note: All Supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Boy can I relate to the dress search! It took Megan & I 6 hours at the 'Mall of America' to find the 'perfect' dress for snowdaze last month. I wonder how long the search will be for the perfect Prom dress, heaven forbid you wear the same dress twice! Oh well, we had fun looking!

Cute card! Love the rub-on.

Just a sec, I have to go grab a cup of java.....mmmmmm....ok, now I can admire your card in style! Thanks for posting a CUTE COFFEE CARD, you know these types are my FAV!!!
Let me know if you want to come and see some prom dresses. I know it is frustrating, but from another mom who doesn't particularly love to shop, I MISS PROM DRESS SHOPPING, even though we were tired and miserable from looking! LOL Hey, it's part of the memory and you can scrap it! LOL

Ok, it's past my bedtime here....

Well, I'm a bit jealous because my son and his date want to go in duct tape suits!? I hate to shop - but I'd rather shop than photograph duct tape! Great card!

Wonderful job on this card Nancy! I love the rub on and the hardware you added. The colour combo is FAB too!

Good luck on the prom dress search. Doesn't sound like an easy task. I have noticed things are a little too sexy for a teenager in high school to be wearing...yikes!

What a cute card - love the colors you used, reminds me of MY morning coffee when I sit outside and enjoy the view!

I hope you find the perfect dress - it is stressful nowadays with the emphasis being that you need to look like Twiggy - Uggghhhh!! *STAMPIN HUGS* Alex
