GRAND CANYON July 2007

No stamping for me yesterday. My family and I did something we've been meaning to do for a very long time .... now, don't laugh .... this is too weird .... I've lived in Phoenix for over 20 years, and had never been to the Grand Canyon ... until yesterday! Can you believe it? I'm embarrassed to admit that! Isn't it funny how we don't see the things in our own backyard?! It was an easy four hour drive up north ... why hadn't we done that sooner??? Of course, the Grand Canyon did NOT disappoint. God is quite an artist, isn't he?

I live out East and that is on my list of places to visit. I know how that is - I've lived in Baltimore all my life and never been to Ft. McHenry until 3 weeks ago. Lovely picture of your family and I can't wait to visit one year. TFS

As a Arizona native, (a rarity these days), I had been to the GC once as a young girl. When my sons were in Boy Scouts, we had the opportunity to go with them on a backpacking adventure down to Horseshoe Mesa....I thought my legs were going to disown me!!! But I am so glad I went!
Have been twice since then, and would absolutely love to do a rafting trip someday!
Glad you finally made the venture. Bet you will go again!!! Try when the temps are a bit cooler!!!

The Grand Canyon is definately on my list of places to visit! As gorgeous as the pictures I've seen are, I can't imagine how it looks in person.
Don't feel so bad...I've lived in Texas my whole life and the first (and only) time I've ever visited the capitol in Austin was about 6 years ago.
