INKSPIRATION SKETCH & JEWELRY COLOR INSPIRATION FOR AUTUMN DAYS

This week, Makeesha Byl brings us Sketch #10 for her weekly Inkspiration Challenge. I love all those different layers, set off by that circle! Be sure to see what the other design team members have created ... Cindy, Karen, Kristy, Amy, and Renee.



I combined Makeesha's sketch with another favorite challenge - Stacey Schafer's Jewelry Color Inspired Challenge #44. I just lit up when I saw this color combo of Perfect Plum, Really Rust, More Mustard, and Very Vanilla, as these are the colors of my living room/dining room, along with some touches of red (SU translation: Riding Hood Red).

On the circle, the pheasant image from the new stamp set Autumn Days was first stamped in Perfect Plum. I masked the pheasant image by stamping it on a post-it note, cutting it out, and covering the original image. The wheat images were then stamped in More Mustard several times. The rubber was not re-inked each time (stamping off). The masking of the pheasant makes it look like the pheasant is standing in the foreground of the wheat, and the wheat is not "showing through" the pheasant image. The "get well wishes" sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes was stamped in Really Rust. The border of the Very Vanilla circle was then sponged with More Mustard ink.

It's difficult to see in the photo but the strip of More Mustard cardstock above the brads has two rows of paper piercing. There are Really Rust cardstock 1/4" Circles behind the More Mustard brads.

DESIGNER PAPER & RIBBON SHARES UPDATE

I've been a busy girl! This is a glimpse of the ribbon shares I've been preparing (designer paper shares not pictured). BABY SHOWER CARDS

I was asked by my cousin Jami to make some baby shower cards for her, and this is the card I designed. The main image was CASEd from THIS CARD by Chat (nitestamper on SCS).

I included this close-up photo of the main image from So Many Scallops to show you the dimension. The image was stamped twice in Certainly Celery, and once in So Saffron. The So Saffron moon and the "Sweet One" Certainly Celery portion were both cut out and popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

DESIGNER PAPER & RIBBON SHARES UPDATE

Look what just arrived an hour ago! ... all the designer paper and ribbon for three groups of designer paper shares and six groups of ribbon shares! My plan was to get the shares cut and shipped out by Wednesday 7/08. My mother-in-law passed away on Thursday with the memorial service tomorrow. I would appreciate your understanding in giving me a couple of extra days to get the shares shipped out with a new goal of Friday 7/10 ship date. I'll keep you posted on my progress.

CHEEP TALK URBAN GARDEN

It wasn't my original intent to flip this sketch, but I was determined to use the stamp set, Cheep Talk which has been neglected since I've owned it. It worked so much better with the sketch flipped. The sketch is Jen del Muro's Sketch For You To Try 7/04/09.

I paired the images from Cheep Talk with Urban Garden Designer Paper. It's difficult to tell in the photograph but there are Not Quite Navy cardstock 1" half circles backing the Baja Breeze Corduroy Buttons. Slivers of Not Quite Navy cardstock "thread" the Baja Breeze Corduroy Buttons.

Everything on this card except the stamp set, Whisper White, Not Quite Navy, and Whisper White cardstock retired on June 30.

MOROCCAN SLIPPER INSPIRED

I'm constantly amazed over the creative people I come across in blogland. I've been stalking Tina's blog, Travelingmama for quite some time, and yesterday she started a new challenge based on photos from her travels and future readers' photographs, Traveler's Inspiration Challenge {one}.

I love Tina's photo of colorful Moroccan slippers with all their sparkle and bling! The beaded medallion on the slippers immediately reminded me of the Stampin' Up! stamp set, True Friend. My eyes were drawn to the three slippers on the right in the red, light pink, and dark pink. My Stampin' Up! color translation is Riding Hood Red, Melon Mambo, and Regal Rose.

Each medallion is cut out, and raised up on Stampin' Dimensionals. I added Stickles glitter glue for paper crafting (non-SU) to each medallion ... X-mas Red for Riding Hood Red, Fruit Punch for Melon Mambo, and Cotton Candy for Regal Rose.RECIPE
